Janis Hatsumi
Janis Hatsumi (née Onda) is Hikaru’s mom and the owner of Alola Sporting Goods, a surf shop on the ground floor of the Hatsumi family’s beach house. When she’s not running the store, she’s a professional surfer who competes in surfing competitions around the Alchas region.
Originally from Briney Breeze Island, Janis returns there every year for the annual Alchas World Surfing Competition, in which she has won seven medals over her surfing career.
