Mystery Dungeon: A Path Through Time

About the Podcast

Mystery Dungeon: A Path Through Time (PTT) is a tabletop RPG podcast where we play as Pokémon using a homebrew game system and universe. Inspired by the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon video game series, the PTT campaign is set in the Alchas region, an industrialized society where Pokémon do all the things humans do in our world: talk, sing, go to school, play sports and video games… and even commit crimes. Sometimes.

The story opens in Gale Beach, a humble town on the southwestern coast of the Ventus state, where four Pokémon high school seniors — Hikaru the Pikachu, Bruce the Cyndaquil, Sammy the Munchlax, and Walter the Riolu — encounter a big honkin' rift in the fabric of spacetime. Their discovery leads them to join Project Flameback, a secretive organization led by Bruce's mom, and embark on a mission to find out what's behind those spacetime rifts. This mission pits them against a cult obsessed with finding three legendary Orbs with untold hidden powers, as well as mob bosses, greedy shopkeepers, and record pirates. How's that for a summer internship?

Mystery Dungeon: A Path Through Time started in 2023 as a spinoff of Not A Scratch, another Pokémon Mystery Dungeon–inspired actual play podcast. We use the same basic TTRPG system as Not A Scratch, and our campaign takes place in the same setting but 20 years before.

PTT is now in its fourth season, with a back catalog of over 70 episodes. We try to release episodes once every two weeks, but life happens (more often than we'd like). You can follow us on Spotify, YouTube, or anywhere else podcasts are sold streamed — or you can join our fan community on Discord for free.
